Useful time expressions: Present Perfect / Simple Past



It's also important to remember that when we have these expressions we must use SIMPLE PAST and we mustn't use PRESENT PERFECT.

Use Simple Past when you refer to a specific moment or when the aciton can't be changed. Present Perfect must be used when time is indefinite or the action can still be changed as time allows. For example:

I WENT SHOPPING YESTERDAY.
I HAVE GONE SHOPPING RECENTLY.

LAST WEEK, I SAW 3 MOVIES.
THIS WEEK, I HAVE SEEN 4. I HOPE TO SEE TWO MORE MOVIES UNTIL SATURDAY.
