Quando não queremos fazer afirmações categóricas, há algumas expressões que podem ser usadas em inglês. Elas são úteis para que não nos envolvamos diretamente aos fatos apresentados.
As expressões são: "SEEM / APPEAR + THAT clause" ou ainda "SEEM / APPEAR + TO verb".
Vejamos alguns exemplos:
It seems that she's upset.
It appears that she's crying.
It seems that I made a mistake.
It appeared that his car had been stolen.
She seems to be upset.
She appears to be crying.
